Decarbonisation Commitment

Collaboration across our sector is essential to achieving our commitments and delivering the actions within the Strategy & Roadmap. This includes all DIY retailers, suppliers, government, and customers.

Decarbonisation targets are a powerful way for organisations to kick-start action and make progress in reducing their carbon emissions.

Setting decarbonisation targets is a complex process, with numerous options available, varying in ambition, coverage, and timeframe.

The Scope 3 Taskforce has developed a set of decarbonisation targets for members to voluntarily commit to, providing a clear direction for the sector.

To do this we require all members of the DIY sector, retailers and suppliers, to become signatories of the Scope 3 Decarbonisation Commitment to ensure that they are addressing their own operational emissions and actively engaging their supply chains to reduce Scope 3 emissions.

We are most pleased to announce that eight of our leading members: Kingfisher (UK), OBI (Germany), Hornbach (Germany) Kesko (Finland), Wickes (UK), Maxeda DIY Group (Benelux), Intergamma (Benelux) and PPG (USA) have become the first signatories to the seminal Global Scope 3 Decarbonisation Commitment.
